Psychoeducational Evaluations

A psychoeducational evaluation is a process by which we gather in depth information about referral concerns, and then select standardized assessments to use along with data gathered from interviews, observations, and other sources in order to provide a comprehensive profile of educational, social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental functioning, including diagnostic determinations. This process will look different depending on the types of information that are needed to answer the referral question.

We offer a few different types of evaluations, which are described in greater detail below.

If you would like additional information about your particular situation, please do not hesitate to schedule a free phone or email conversation. Call 615.988.0194 or email info@nashvilleassessment.com. If you have a situation that does not neatly fall into these categories, do not hesitate to reach out and ask for additional information; we are open to quoting additional pricing information based on your individual situation.

At this time we do not accept any type of insurance. We would be happy to provide you with an invoice that you can file with your insurance company for reimbursement, if needed. We encourage you to consult with your insurance company prior to arranging for the psychological evaluation in order to obtain additional information about their specific reimbursement rates and policies.

The first step towards an evaluation is sitting down with one of our psychologists for an initial consultation appointment. At this meeting, you will be able to provide us additional information about the types of concerns that have lead you to seek out an evaluation. We will review information about our practice and get your formal consent to start the evaluation process. The fee for an initial consultation is $200, which will be credited towards the cost of any other evaluation services rendered.

Comprehensive Psycho-educational Assessments

Comprehensive psychoeducational assessments can answer a broad range of questions. They are designed to provide clarifying information about an individual's broad functioning and, if appropriate, to clarify diagnoses. These types of evaluations include an in-depth interview to collect background information and to obtain information about how the individual is typically functioning at home and school. Then, individual testing is conducted, which could include cognitive assessments; tests of reading, writing, and math skills; structured, direct observations of social skills; and personality assessments, as needed. Rating scales completed by the client, parents, and/or teachers can provide additional information about social-emotional, behavioral, and adaptive functioning, if necessary. As appropriate, other types of observations might be conducted. Finally, background information might be sought from other sources, such as teachers, doctors, or speech therapists, if applicable.

At the end of this process, you will be provided with a thorough, written evaluation report that details our findings. We will sit down with you to carefully review the results of the evaluation, discuss diagnostic findings, and make recommendations for the future. Your evaluation results are confidential. The fee for a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment is $1400, $200 of which will be credited from your initial consultation appointment fee.

Non-Comprehensive Evaluation

Sometimes, families are seeking more limited information, such as assessment in a single area. This might include, for example, a cognitive assessment, a brief assessment of reading comprehension, or a memory scale. The fee for non-comprehensive testing in a single area is $400, $200 of which will be credited from your initial consultation appointment fee.
